(More customer reviews)I am just over 50 years old and for all of my shaving years I've used one thing: a blade. I've seen technology get better and better with the latest Shick Quattros and Gillette Pro-Glides delivering shaves that are so close it rivals the most skilled barber wielding his finest edge over a warmly lathered up landscape of whiskers. Things have changed and it is now even hard to nick yourself compared to the old one-blade drop-in or injector razors. Yeah, blades have really got to the point of even small refinements being more marketing than needed. What hasn't changed is the time it takes to prep for the shave: washing and lathering then cleaning up. Time for an alternative.
Enter the Remington Products SR9130TV triple-head rotary shaver. The Remington arrived and I charged it for a day. The first time I shaved I must say it was a Saturday and I didn't care if the shave wasn't as close as my "business" week-day one. I got a surprise, after acclimating to adequately use the shaver I found myself marvelling in the mirror thinking it looks good enough to pass for a blade! I shaved it about the same length of time the first one or two times, but subsequently it went faster as I knew how to use the shaver better. The shaving process actually felt more like I was massaging my face than shaving so it was entirely pleasant and the results were excellent. It's been over a week and the initial charge is still holding great too! I should also mention that the shape and weight balance are very ergonomic and the sideburn trimmer works fantastic.
I believe I've waited too long to switch, but since everything gets better with advances in technology I guess now is the time if you have exhibited my same "stubborness" to go electric. I can't comment on durability and how long the blades perform at the level needed to give the shave it is delivering presently, but I can say I'm glad to have this shaver and if it does reasonably in those departments it is a total "buy" recommendation. Time will tell about the longevity, as of now I'm loving it, thanks Amazon!
