(More customer reviews)I bought my Norelco 7345XL from Sears. It was on sale for $59.99, marked down from $82.99. I have been using it for about a week now and am very pleased.
This is my first rotary razor. It replaced a Remington Clean Xchange Microscreen Razor. I had a Wahl Microscreeen Razor before that. This 7345XL Rotary gives a much better shave than any microscreen that I have ever used. It actually gets the hairs on my jawline and my neck with only one or two passes. There is no irritation at all. The shave is smooth and quick and I actually look forward to shaving with this razor.
It is also lightweight and is very quiet. When I turned it on for the first time, I thought it must not have charged properly because it made little noise and the blades did not seem to be turning at all. But, they sure were turning and the shave was great. Using such a quiet razor after having had that loud Remington Clean Xchange Razor takes some geting used to.
It can be used corded or uncorded, and can be cleaned by opening the head compartment and rinsing it out with hot water. That only takes a few seconds and it does not have to be dried before putting it up.
On the downside, the razor does take 8 full hours to get a charge for 30 minutes of shaving time. That is longer and less shaving time than most other electric razors. The instruction manual recommends replacing the razor heads once a year with the HQ8 Philips Norelco Razor Heads. They were on the shelf at Sears for $29.99. They are also available on Amazon for around the same price, counting the shipping costs. I consider these to be minor negative factors when deciding whether or not to buy this razor.
Overall, this Norelco 7345XL Rotary Razor gives me the best shave of any electric razor that I have ever used. It is a little more costly than some other models and brands, but I firmly believe that it is well worth the money.
